Maia received their BA with a double major in Medical Anthropology and Cognitive Science, then later their MA in Bioethics & Medical Humanities, at Case Western Reserve University. Maia is currently in their second year of the MSW program at Case with a specialization in trauma-informed practice with children and families.
Maia’s therapeutic approach is grounded in family systems, somatic techniques, mindfulness, trauma-informed CBT, and narrative therapy. They believe in healing trauma at both the individual and community levels, with a commitment to anti-oppressive practice. In sessions, Maia focuses on creating a safe, supportive environment where you can explore your thoughts and feelings and work toward meaningful change.
Maia works with a diverse range of clients, including children, teens, & adults with chronic pain, (childhood or adult) trauma, neurodivergence, anxiety, OCD, depression, and those who identify with the LGBTQ+ community/who are questioning their sexuality and/or gender identity. Maia is passionate about helping individuals navigate their unique challenges and empower them to lead fulfilling lives.
In their free time, Maia enjoys yoga, meditation, taking nature walks, watching TV, reading, journaling, making art, dancing, playing Animal Crossing, & playing music in their band.
