Meet Mikayla Stump
LPC

(she/her/hers)

Mikayla Stump is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) who works with adults, with a focus on trauma, abuse recovery, and the long-term impact of difficult or overwhelming life experiences.

She earned her Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Cleveland State University and her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology through the Lorain County Community College partnership with Cleveland State University. Mikayla has experience supporting survivors of abuse, including sexual violence, and approaches this work with care, sensitivity, and a strong commitment to client safety and autonomy.

Mikayla has received training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), an evidence-based therapy used to help process and reduce the impact of traumatic experiences. She integrates this approach thoughtfully, helping clients work through the past at a pace that feels manageable while building skills to stay grounded in the present.

Her work is grounded in a trauma-informed, client-centered approach, with an emphasis on helping individuals:

– Process and heal from past trauma, including abuse and sexual violence
– Navigate the emotional impact of difficult life experiences
– Build coping strategies and emotional stability
– Reconnect with a sense of safety, control, and self-trust
– Move forward in a way that feels meaningful and sustainable

She believes therapy should be a space where you don’t have to navigate things alone—while also ensuring that the process feels safe, paced, and supportive. Mikayla works collaboratively with clients to help them better understand their experiences and move toward healing in a way that respects their readiness and goals.

Mikayla is under the supervision of Halle Schelb, LPCC-S E.2303535-SUPV.

Outside of the office, Mikayla enjoys spending time with her pets (who you may get the chance to meet), reading, trying new crafts, hiking, and being outdoors.
